There are  many ways to create ePortfolios and many kinds of programs and assessment systems to use.

Pre-Service Student Portfolios

Teacher preparation programs are also embedding electronic portfolios into their programs. We will provide you with CD's from a number of professional programs to view how ePortfolios are being constructed at these different sites.

  • Created in Chalk & Wire, this ePortfolio was constructed by Antonio Campbell from Southern Utah University
  • Champlain College in Vermont has Lisa Pleskach's  licensure portfolio  online.
  • Peter Koutroulis also of Champlain College has a web based ePortfolio.
  • Heather Caisse used from Castleton State College used DreamWeaver to create her ePortfolio.
  • Jilliam Van Ellis demonstrates the John Hopkins University Portfolio System
  • YooRee Ho is another example of a students' use of the John Hopkins Portfolio System.
  • Sandy Smithdon uses the John Hopkins Portfolio System to demonstrate ISTE standards.

  • e-Folio at the University of Minnesota is a portfolio construct. Here is a sample generated by an elementary education pre-service student.  Learn more about e-Folio by taking a tour.
  • Open Source Portfolio emerged from the The Open Source Portfolio Initiative (OSPI) is a community of individuals and organizations collaborating on the development of the leading non-proprietary, open source electronic portfolio software available. You can download OSP onto your own server and adapt it to meet the needs of your school or college.
  • The John Hopkins Digital Portfolio is template-driven Web interface that is customizable based on its intended purpose and audience.
  • Richer Picture works with K-12 schools to provide professional development and licensing for portfolio development from ideas consulting.
  • Pupil Pages also gears itself to K-12 school ePortfolio construction.
  • ePortfolios at the University of Washington from the Catalyst Project

  • Folios International produces FolioMaker that can be used to create student, school, or professional digital portfolios. School websites and information management systems are also available.
