Super Sites for Elementary Educators

Beakman's Place	Beakman's place brings interactive science to the web. Students can explore the answers to many interesting science questions and perform experiments to help them understand the answers. Macromedia demos help students determine why leaves turn green and how gravity works. Shockwave is needed to see the interactive demos.
Children's Literature Guide	There are many links to Internet resources about Books for Children and Young Adults. Links to online stories, best books lists, best sellers, book publishers, poetry and a special section for teachers and parents make this a valuable site for educators.
Stage Hand Puppets	This site offers puppet patterns, ideas for making different kinds of puppets and all sorts of information about ventriliquism, puppet supplies and performances. Puppet templates can be printed for easy replication. Designs change each week
Starchild Project	The Starchild Project is a resource about the solar system especially designed for the elementary school aged child. Level one and two versions are available, for early and later elementary students, with all kinds of information and other links about the solar system.
Volcano World	At Volcano World you will find all the information you could ever need about volcanos. Locate current volcanoes on a map, see graphics of erupting volcanoes, send questions to a volcanologist, download information on plate tectonics or lesson plans for students.
MECC	MECC supports and supplies Internet field trips, student and teacher resources, and even information on teacher freebees. The MECC Inter@ctive Explorer Series are interdisciplinary Internet-based programs designed for grades 4-9. Join a team of archeologists to Mexico to discover what happened to the Mayan civilization.
The Oregon Trail	The Oregon Trail provides interesting background information about the travelers of this historic journey and the obstacles they encountered. There are even actual diary entries and It provides a wonderful supplement to the program of the same name.
Globalearn	Globalearn offers an interactive trip transversing Marco Polo's journey from Venice to HongKong this coming Spring. Geared for grades 4-6, this virtual trip is free to educators and their students.
Classroom Connect	This is the online site for this popular educational internet publication and provides lesson plans, research information, contact with educators and schools on the web, the best of K-12 links, search engines and Cu-SeeMe connections.
SuperKids	Superkids is a publication that reviews and critiques educational software. Children's software reviews based on objective analyses by parents, teachers and kids.
