Level one is designated for those at an almost entry level in terms of their comfort level in using technology tools. They should be familiar with wordprocessing tools (Word) and e-mail processes but may not know much about working with multimedia, In this course they will learn how to use digital tools to capture pictures and video, edit and manipulate graphical data, and how to insert these into wordprocessing and presentation software.  They will learn how to work with a web-based template to develop an electronic portfolio.

  • Storyboarding a portfolio: You can see a flow chart model of a school website and also look at    examples at Web Design  and look at a some storyboards I created for a professional portfolio. 
  • How to use the WebCt tools for discussion. 
  • Identification of artifacts for your portfolio

  • Saving a digital movie to an e-mail message, a CD and/or the web
  • Selecting a template and inserting your own information

  • Inserting text, graphics, movies, sound, graphs  to one's portfolio
  • Portfolio work time
  • Uploading your quicktime movie to your web page 
  • Saving work to  a CD-rom. 
  • Adding to and editing portfolios.
  • Sharing  work and assessing progress

  • Students taking this course for credit must complete their professional portfolio guided by the portfolio rubric
