    Question # 26: In general terms, describe Chinese history and culture leading up to the modern era. How does "traditional" China compare with "traditional" India?

    Question # 27: How did an ancient powerful and accomplished Chinese civilization lose its grip and sense of superiority and become a semi-colony of European imperialists during the nineteenth century? Why did movements from below and from above fail to modernize China and deal successfully with the foreign threat during this period?

    Question #28: Describe the history of the Chinese Revolution during the twentieth century. How does this history compare with the history of the Indian independence struggle?

    Question #29: What have been the main features and important changes of policy of the People's Republic of China from 1949 to the present?
