AGRI 85 Final Exam Study Guide
You can expect questions on the following topics:

- The connection between the PCs in lab and Zoo, and what is happening when you upload and
    download files.
- How to trouble shoot HTML code and web publishing problems, for example:
        -My image won't come up in Netscape, but it will in I.E.
        -My image works on my own PC but now where else
        -I get a "Forbidden" message when I go to my page
- Physical Media of the Internet
- The TCP/IP stack that we went over in lecture, and what the function of each layer is
- Questions from the first video on how Bill Gates became the richest person alive
- Questions from the history of the Internet video
- How Hackers Break In and How they are Caught online reading from the syllabus
Data types and classification
- The full names for acronyms such as URL, HTML, HTTP, ASCII, TCP/IP, ARPA, SSH,
    FTP, etc.
- What graph and chart types are most appropriate for given data.

- There may be questions from the readings from the syllabus on how things work
    such as digital cameras, LCD screens, Laser printers, scanners, Analog to digital
    converters, optical fibers, Internet e-mail, etc.
Units of memory and storage
-  There may be questions from the reading on the syllabus on the competing
    technologies to bring broad band data access to your home
-  You may be asked to critique a graph and choose what is wrong about it,
    as well as how to interpret a graph
-  There may be questions about what components to expect in today's desktop
    and laptop computers.  Compare prices and components at PCWorld.com
-  Know how to convert binary into decimal, decimal into binary, and figure out
    the minimum number of bits used to code for X number of things.  For example,
    to code for 256 different colors, you would need a minimum of eight bits
    because 2 to the 8th power is 256.
-  Know how to subscribe, unsubscribe, and post messages to a UVM listserv
-  There may be questions on modems: what they do, why we need them, what is
    a modem and what is not, and the difference between how signals are sent
    inside a PC and over the Plain Old Telephone System (POTS)
-   There will be questions on basic HTML tags that appear in the lab web pages
    and the advantages and disadvantages of different forms of the tags (local
    file reference compared to remote file reference)
-   There may be questions from the Voyager space probe reading on how error
    checking and image compression was accomplished, and why it was done the way
    it was
-   There may be questions about how to use pico on zoo, how to create and save
    files such as your pine signature file
