- The full names for acronyms such as URL, HTML, HTTP, ASCII, TCP/IP,
ARPA, SSH, 
    FTP, etc.
- What graph and chart types are most appropriate for given data.

-  You may be asked to critique a graph and choose what is wrong

    as well as how to interpret a graph

-  Know how to convert binary into decimal, decimal into binary,
and figure out
    the minimum number of bits used to code for X number
of things.  For example,
    to code for 256 different colors, you would need a
minimum of eight bits 
    because 2 to the 8th power is 256.
-  Know how to subscribe, unsubscribe, and post messages to a UVM
listserv
-  There may be questions on modems: what they do, why we need
them, what is
    a modem and what is not, and the difference between
how signals are sent
    inside a PC and over the Plain Old Telephone System
(POTS)
-   There will be questions on basic HTML tags that appear in
the lab web pages
    and the advantages and disadvantages of different
forms of the tags (local
    file reference compared to remote file reference)
-   There may be questions from the Voyager space probe
reading on how error
    checking and image compression was accomplished, and
why it was done the way
    it was
-   There may be questions about how to use pico on zoo, how
to create and save
    files such as your pine signature file
