OFFICE HOURS: Specific hours will be announced (updated here!) early in the semester; you are welcome to stop by at your convenience, and if I am busy we will reschedule for another time.
TEXT: There is no required text for the course. Readings will be assigned from review articles, reference books, and reserve books. See appropriate pages for specifics.
GRADING: There will be two "hourly" exams (which will be given during the semester either in the evening or as a take-home excercise), a short paper and oral presentation, and a final non-comprehensive exam (scheduled for 8:00 a.m., Friday, May 9th).
Your grade for the course will be determined as follows:
Exam I:250 points
Exam II:250 points
P aper/Presentation:250 points
Final Exam:250 points

TOTAL:1000 points
PROBLEM SETS: Problem sets will be handed out periodically with their respective answer keys following one to two weeks later. Your answers will not be collected, but similar questions could very well pop up on one of the exams.
THE WEB: As you probably have noticed, this and all other documents for this course are available on the Web. Please note that while you will be given hardcopies of these pages in class, they are dynamic documents and will be updated frequently on the Web, so check in often! As usual, your comments and suggestions are appreciated.
