Jeffords Center Capability for Providing Evaluation Services
The Jeffords Center has expertise in policy analysis, service allocation, change management, external evaluation and research. These are the types of expertise that have been cut from the state government. Yet, this expertise is important to analyze potential service cuts, identify intended and unintended consequences, propose processes for change, and evaluate the fidelity and outcomes of the changes.
Located at UVM with access to graduate students and scholars in economics, sociology, psychology, social work, education, political science, medicine and public administration, the Jeffords Center can propose evaluations that will provide an independent, sophisticated and timely evaluation of public initiatives. The Jeffords Center is currently performing evaluations under grant agreements for the SAMHSA Rutland County Treatment Court, Sparrow and Court Diversion DEAP projects. We recently completed an evaluation for the Lamoille Community Justice Project.
Faculty and graduate students now associated with Jeffords have performed evaluations under the Vermont Research Partnership for the Vermont Department of Education and several divisions of the Agency of Human Services. Most recently, evaluations were completed of the AHS reorganization, Incarcerated Women's Initiative, the DETER Project, Diversity in the Teaching Workforce and Student Mobility Between and Among Vermont School Districts.
