The Jeffords Center awards Graduate Fellowships and Undergraduate Scholarships annually to students conducting high-quality research related to the missions of the Jeffords Center.

2011-2012 James M. Jeffords Center Fellows and Scholars

Six Graduate Fellowships have been awarded for the 2010-2011 academic year to UVM students for research associated with the Center’s Signature Themes.

The 2010-2011 Jeffords Fellows are:

• Erin Donovan
  UVM Major: Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
  Supporting Signature Award: Response to Instruction
  Research Focus: Challenges faced by schools in meeting students' needs, as well as how developmental issues interact with students' educational experiences in middle and high schools.
• Kate Fournier
  UVM Major: M.S. in Natural Resources: Environment, Society and Public Affairs
  Supporting Signature Award: Vermont Legislative Research Service
  Research Focus: Current policy issues for Vermont Legislature, and a Ph.D. investigation of the foreign listing process of endangered species
• Talia Glesner
  UVM Major: Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

• Rebecca Pincus

  Research Focus: US military and its impacts on energy policy; energy security; and the role of alternative dispute resolution techniques in resolving conflicts over energy and environmental policy

  Research Project: Analysis of complex governance systems dynamics
• Helena Vladich

  Supporting Signature Award: Institute for Environmental Diplomacy and Security
  Research Focus: Participatory spatial analysis, high-resolution remote sensing data and ecosystem services valuation approach as tools for environmental consensus building.
