~ Our Tuna Songs ~

Song List:

small peace offering

Oh, Sweet Hilly! (Oh Suzanna)

I come from UVM with a tuna on my knee,
I'm going to Alpine Drive, my sweet Hilly for to see.

Oh, sweet Hilly! Oh don't you meow for me,
for I come from UVM with a tuna on my knee.

It rained all night the day I left, the snow I had to plow.
The sun so hot I froze to death, sweet Hilly don't you meow.

Oh, sweet Hilly! Oh don't you meow for me,
for I come from UVM with a tuna on my knee.

A Spoonful of Tuna (a spoonful of sugar)

Just a spoonful of tuna helps the medicine go down,
the medicine go down, the medicine go down,
just a spoonful of tuna helps the medicine go down,
in the most delightful way!

Tuna (It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas)

It's beginning to look a lot like tuna... everywhere we go!
(we forgot the rest of the words.. :-)

My Tuna (My Bonnie)

My tuna swims under the ocean, my tuna swims under the sea,
my tuna swims under the ocean, please bring back my tuna to me.
Bring back, bring back, please bring back my tuna to me, to me!
Bring back, bring back, oh bring back my tuna to me!

Silent Tuna (Silent Night)

Silent tuna, holy tuna
tuna is calm, tuna is bright.
Round young tuna, gentle and wild,
Holy tuna so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly tuna, sleep in heavenly tuna.

Hilly Had a Little Tuna (Mary Had a Little Lamb)

Hilly had a little tuna, little tuna, little tuna,
Hilly had a little tuna, its scales were white as snow.
Everywhere that Hilly went, Hilly went, Hilly went,
everywhere that Hilly went her tuna was sure to go.

I've Been Working on my Tuna (I've Been Working on the Railroad)

I've been working on my tuna, all the live long day!
I've been working on my tuna, just to pass the time away!
Can't you hear my tummy growling, I rise up so early in the morn', ah -
Don't you hear my tummy saying, Hilly go eat your tuna!
Hilly won't you eat, Hilly won't you eat, Hilly won't you eat your tuna!
Hilly won't you eat, Hilly won't you eat, Hilly won't you eat your tuna!
Someone's in the kitchen with Tuna, someone's in the kitchen I see!
Someone's in the kitchen with Tuna! They better share it with me!
and we'll sing
Tu tu tuna, tu tu tu tu na aa aa aa, u tu tu na! munching on the ol' tuna.

Tunas (Tiggers)

The wonderful thing about tunas, is tunas are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of muscle, their bottoms are made out fins!
They're bouncy flouncy trouncy bouncy fun fun fun fun fun!
But the most wonderful thing about tunas is I'll eat every one!
Oh, I'll eat every one!

You Are My Tuna (You Are my Sunshine)

You are my tuna, my only tuna.
You keep me happy, when I'm hungry..
You'll always know dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my tuna from me!

The Tu Na cessities (The Bear Necessities, from the Jungle Book)

Look for the tu na cessities
The simple tu na cessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the tu na cessities
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the tu na cessities of life

Whenever I wander, I can't get home soona
I couldn't be fonder of my big tuna

the fridge is hummin' I can see
chilling the tuna faithfully
When you look under the door and smell
the tuna, it sure is swell!
Then maybe try a few..

The tu na cessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

Look for the tu na cessities
The simple tu na cessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the tu na cessities
That's why a cat can rest at ease
With just the tu na cessities of life!

Trust In Tuna (Trust In Me, from the Jungle Book)

Trust in tuna, just in tuna
Shut your eyes and trust in tuna
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing tuna is around

Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver fish
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist

Trust in tuna, just in tuna
Shut your eyes and trust in tuna...

Tuna Fishy (Rubber Ducky)

tuna fishy, you're the one
you make mealtime so much fun
tuna fishy, I'm awfully fond of you!

(doo doo dee doo doo!)

tuna fishy, joy of joys,
when I squeeze you, you make noise!
tuna fishy, you're my very best friend, it's true!

every day when I
make my way to my food dish
I find a little fella who's
cute and yellow and smells like fish!

(yumma yum yummy)

tuna fishy, you're so fine
and I'm lucky that you're mine
tuna fishy, I'm awfully fond of -
tuna fishy, I'd like a whole pond of -
tuna fishy, I'm awfully fond of you!

Joy To The World

Joy to the world! The tuna has come:
Let earth receive her fish!
Let ev'ry heart prepare it room,
The tu-na will be here so soon,
And heaven and nature wish,
And heaven and nature wish,
And cats and heaven and nature wish.

Joy to the world, the tuna reigns!
Let cats their meows employ!
While tabbies and siamese,
and toms and manx and persians
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy!

Tuna rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of its righteousness
Its scrumptiousness and tastiness
And wonders of its love,
And wonders of its love,
And wonders, wonders of its love.

Canned Tunafish (from the Bon Jovi song bad medicine..)

Your love is like... Canned Tunafish!
Canned Tunafish is what I need..
eat it up, just like canned tunafish
It's so yummy, from my head to my knees..

Imagine (John Lennon)

Imagine there's no cat food
It's easy if you try
nothing but fish below us
only tuna from the sky
Imagine all the kitties
Living for today...

Imagine there's no Iams
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to meow or beg for
And no Meow Mix too
Imagine all the kitties
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only cat
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be like that

Imagine no dry cat food
I hope that you are tryin'
No need for greed or hunger
A sisterhood of feline
Imagine all the kitties
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only cat
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live like that

God Rest Ye Merry Tunafish (Gentlemen)

God rest ye merry Tunafish
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Cat, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Ocean's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

And more to come soon!

Note: One funny thing - why is it that christmas songs are so incredibly impossibly catchy (and easy to mutate) ? Is it because we hear them more than any other fun classic vocal songs, or is it because of the tunes that were chosen when the songs were created? Or because they're so repetitive? Hm.
