Dogs and Rabbits Have Much in Common:
- they will both eat and beg for things that are not good for them
- they both usually like to be pet, rubbed and paid attention to
- they both rarely like to be picked up or held, preferring to stand
firmly on the ground
- they both are usually social and will prefer to be in the company of
people or other animals
- they both need to be brushed and groomed regularly
- they both need an environment where chewable unsafe items are removed
- they are both trainable and habit forming
- both need mental and physical stimulation in the form of games and toys
- both enjoy having their own territory and safe places within the house
- they both love to have freedom and exercise and do not like to be
confined in cages against their will
- they are both more rambunctious, destructive and hard to toilet train
when younger
- both are healthier and less likely to bite or misbehave when spayed or
neutered
- both have natural rest periods and active periods throught the day and
evening
- both need to be safely restrained and supervised outdoors
- both have a much more acute sense of smell than we do
- both need to live inside with human companions and be sheltered from
the weather and wild animals
