Where is the consent process initiated?

• Consent should be conducted in a private area that allows a research subject to feel comfortable to ask any and all questions.

• Consent should NOT be conducted:
  • In a waiting room or lobby
  • On the operating room table
  • While subject is under any sort of duress, e.g., sedated, in pain
