INTRODUCTION:

UVM and FAHC are involved in important behavioral and biomedical research. Both institutions are committed to assuring that all research activities are conducted in a manner that promotes the rights and welfare of the participants.

Two committees are responsible for reviewing and overseeing all research activities in order to ensure the protection of individuals who participate in research projects. These committees (known as institutional review boards or IRBs) are:

  1. Committee on Human Research in the Medical Sciences (CHRMS)
  2. Committee on Human Research in the Behavioral Sciences (CHRBS)
