IRA Executive Board 2012-2013 Elections

Thank you for your interest in running for an officer position on next year’s Executive Board!

Please read over the following information carefully and For those of you running for the position of President or Director of Student Advocacy, your elections will be held on the Lynx from 8am on April 16th to 4pm on April 17th.  Please submit your platform to irauvm@uvm.edu for review no later than 4pm on April 15th to have your name included on the ballot and your platform posted online. You may also include a picture of yourself to be posted on the website.

If you are considering running for any of the other positions, you will be presenting your platform to the IRA General Body Wednesday, April 18th, at 7:30pm. Please e-mail us atirauvm@uvm.edu to let us know that you will be running. While it is not required for you to submit your platform, you are welcome to e-mail IRA for feedback before presenting in front of the General Body.

For any of the positions you may consider running for, please review the duties of any position outline in the IRA Constitution and include answers to the following questions in your platform:

  • What position are you running for, and what is your main purpose for running for this position?
  • What characteristics do you possess that would allow you to function as a strong student leader?
  • What past experiences do you have or organizations have you worked with that would help you qualify you for this position?
  • Are there any on-campus issues in particular that you are interested in working on? If so, please explain how you would address them.
