Hello 3rd graders! Welcome to a WebQuest discovery about China designed especially for you!

China is one of the world's largest and oldest countries! Wouldn't it be neat to plan a special adventure there with your classmates! Before we can go to China we need you to find out some information about China to prepare us! With your help, we just might be able to discover what China is really like! On this WebQuest you will need too complete a challenge
online. There will be questions that you need to answer by clicking on the links provided or by using internet search engines and key words! Thanks so much for your help, together we can learn so much about this foreign country!

Here is your challenge, 3rd grader:

By the end of this WebQuest you will need  to report back with some of the information that you find. There are 5 main facts that you will need to report back about China so that we can learn more about this country!

First, we need to know how big China is! This information can be reported in square miles, square kilometers, or a comparison to another country (like if China were 1/2 the size of Europe.)

Next, We need to know how many people live in this country. When you report this information back to the class we will be able to compare the number of people who live in China to the number of people who live in the United States.

Now, what animal is a national treasure to China?

Also,  China is the shortened name for this country. What is China's full name?

Last but not least, you will need to locate a picture of the Chinese flag and sketch your own drawing of it.
