TREES!

A WebQuest for First Graders
By Megan Maynard

Introduction: Look outside and notice how many trees there are. How many trees do you see each day? Are there too many to count? You have just recently discovered that there are three main types of trees in the whole world. They are called palm trees, coniferous trees and deciduous trees.

Challenge:  You are a forest ranger and the local community has decided that it is important for you to plant some more trees at North Beach located in Burlington, Vermont. But what kind of trees would you plant in this environment? Discover information about each tree so that you can add to this beautiful place.

Journey:  Click on each link below to fill out the worksheet about the three types of trees. After you have collected enough information, turn your paper over and write a sentence about what kind of trees you could plant at North Beach and state evidence why.
