Burlington, Vermont: Saint Louis Street. This photograph was taken by Louis McAllister on May 25, 1942

The photograph was taken on Manhattan Drive looking east towards Saint Louis Street. The address of the building to the right is 102 Saint Louis Street. Almost in the center of the picture unpaved Manhattan Drive can be seen winding around the bend into Saint Louis Street. To the right of the photograph no longer existing Elm trees can be seen. A white picket fence is just to the right of the Elm trees bordering the sidewalk. The picket fence belongs to 99 Saint Louis Street. Amongst the trees is 102 Saint Louis Street. One of the windows of that building and a partial view of the porch can be seen. To the left of the photograph there are six men who appear to be putting up or repairing utility poles. They are using a crane to move one of the poles into position. Another pole that has already been placed is leaning in the background; behind this pole is a parked car.
