56 King Street

This home has many important architectural details worth noting, with the original frame resembling a stick style.  It is a two and a half story, 2 by 1 bay with a huge bay window dominating the first floor façade.  The roof is clad in slate, while the entire home is clad in shingle.  The building also has multi level eaves, with a front gable.  The porch and the pediment were added later, due to the difference in materials and design.

Beginning in 1886, and continuing on through at least 1901, the Beach family resided at 56 King. [12]   Joseph T. Beach was a bookkeeper, while his wife, S. Beach, was a wholesale and retail baker and confectioner; her store was located at 198 and 202 College Street.
