While there is no mention of a garage or carriage house being built at 339 Colchester in the research material, comparison of the 1869 Beers, 1877 Birds Eye View and 1890 C.M. Hopkins historic maps indicate that this structure was built sometime between 1869 and 1877. The building is a one story gable front garage with one large double-door entrance, clapboard siding, raking eaves and a slate roof.
