South Champlain Street stretches from College Street in the north and past Maple Street to the south.  This area has been a commercial and industrial center of Burlington.  The character of the street has changed much over the years, but from the period of 1869 to 1877, there is one building that is still standing.  The survivor is a commercial structure that has survived many changes in use.
