37 Hyde Street

37 Hyde Street is a vernacular style house. It is not known when this house was actually built, but it is believed to have been built between 1870-1877. This is a tri-gable ell with a one-story projecting bay on the front façade that was added c. 1900.[1]
It is believed that this house was built c.1880,[2] but 1873/74 Burlington directories show Peter Goslin, a carpenter, living at 37 Hyde Street. Goslin is believed to have been the first resident here, and his shop is also believed to have been at this same residence as well.[3] It is also believed that Goslin lived here until at least 1890.[4]
