Mission
The Honors College supports the mission of the University of Vermont by providing an environment for the promotion of excellence in undergraduate scholarship and the stimulation of intellectual breadth, vigor, and responsibility throughout our university community. We share the university's commitment to diversity and cultural pluralism.
Honors College Council and Committees
As the Honors College's primary governing body, the council sets curriculum and advises the dean on college policies. The Honors College Council is comprised of administrators, faculty, staff and students. Each undergraduate academic unit appoints two faculty representatives to the Council: typically an honors program director/coordinator and a representative from the unit's curriculum committee. Honors program directors and coordinators comprise the Honors College Subcommittee on Admission and Retention, and the representatives from the curriculum committees comprise the Honors College Curriculum Subcommittee.
