The Honors College

Governance

Mission

To promote excellence in undergraduate education at UVM by offering a residential learning environment that attracts academically talented students and leads them towards superior educational outcomes.

Honors College Council and Committees

As the Honors College's primary governing body, the council sets curriculum and advises the dean on college policies. The Honors College Council is comprised of administrators, faculty, staff and students. Each undergraduate academic unit appoints two faculty representatives to the Council: typically an honors program director/coordinator and a representative from the unit's curriculum committee. Honors program directors and coordinators comprise the Honors College Subcommittee on Admission and Retention, and the representatives from the curriculum committees comprise the Honors College Curriculum Subcommittee.
