HCOL 31 Music In Live Performance (one credit)
In this one credit elective course students will study and attend concerts, operas, and plays. Pre-and post-performance talks with artists will give the students an insider's view of the world of performance. Note that participation in the course requires attendance at class and the corresponding evening performance. No text required. Journal assignments.
HCOL 31 is taught by Natalie Neuert, the Director of UVM's prestigious Lane Series.

HCOL 194A In the Artist's Studio (one credit)
This course will provide the opportunity for students from all disciplines to witness artists in their studios with the tools and devices each uses to manipulate materials in creative and innovative ways. The experience of seeing paintings, for instance, both finished and in-progress, and being able to engage in inquisitive conversation with the artist will be a primary focus of the course. Students will have the unique opportunity to have a provocative and interesting exposure to working artists, leading to insights about the specific artistic processes as well as into creativity in general.
The artists to be visited are a mix of established professionals with national recognition and younger emerging artists, several of whom are graduates of UVM. All have studios in the Burlington area, each with distinct purposes: painting, architecture, functional brasswork, sculpture, jewelry, furniture design, printmaking, ceramics, film/video, photography.
Prof. Davison is a retired professor of Art and a distinguished printmaker.
This class will meet on the following Tuesdays from 4:00 - 6:00 pm:January 22, February 5, February 19, February 26, March 12, March 19, April 16, April 23,and April 30 in U Heights N2 34E.(Honors College Conference Room)
