THE OFFICE OF UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH (OUR) AT UVM

Updates from the Office of Undergraduate Research

The Office facilitates the distribution of several awards that fund students' innovations. Once students establish themselves in research or creative environments, they are encouraged to apply for financial support.

Summer Internship Grant (due April 8) provides student wages of up to $3500 in addition to upwards of $1500 for supplies and operating expenses.

NEW - Public Research & Civic Endeavors Scholarship (due April 15) $4000
Recognizing that research and creative activities happen beyond campus, the PR&CE Scholarship was established to help students pursue unfunded internships and community-focused projects. Students must show the value of professional development, service-learning, or other real-world initiatives in their career trajectories.

NEW - Summer 2011 Mini Grants (due May 13) $1000 provided for research expenses that may include:

  • Art supplies
  • Housing costs
  • Computer programs
  • Office supplies
  • Mileage to/from project site
