The boundary to be included in this National Registration Nomination
is indicated in Map Book 4, Map 63 of the Barre City Land Records and includes
Lot #1 and Lot #3. Lot #2, while originally included in the Jones Brothers
Company site, is presently under different ownership. The building on Lot
#2, while potentially eligible for the National Register as the former Jones
Brothers Company office building, has lost its historical integrity and
does not presently contribute to the site.
Included for nomination within Lot #1 ( 1.6 acres) and Lot #3 (2.8 acres) is the former Granite Shed, a small adjacent building, and the foundation remains of the demolished portion of the shed. Also included are the remains of railroad tracks found within the boundary limits. The rear of the property is determined by the Stevens Branch of the Winooski River while the front is bounded by the railroad right of way, except a small portion of Lot #1 which is located between the right of way and Vermont Route 302.
