Formerly Chair/Director of History, Music and Canadian Studies, Professor Metcalfe taught European, Renaissance, Tudor-Stuart and Canadian history from 1963-1998. He now works as a conductor with the Vermont Mozart Festival, the Oriana Singers and the Gilbert & Sullivan Singers of Vermont, while remaining active in the Association for Canadian Studies in the U.S.
