About the UVM History ForumTHE UVM HISTORY FORUMThe History Forum is a student-run club that promotes the study and discussion of history at UVM. Among its sponsored activities is the Emerson Lecture, named for UVM's first Professor of History, Samuel Emerson, which features a talk by a distinguished visiting historian or public intellectual. The Forum sponsors the Student Research Symposium every spring to showcase UVM student research. The Forum also runs a variety of history-related activities ranging from field trips to round-tables, to its annual series of movie nights. The History Forum publishes the award-winning UVM History Review. The Forum is open to any student that would like to participate in these and other history-related activities. Interested students should contact the current (2004-05) head of the Forum, Ian Boyd. Modified 10/26/2005 |
