Publish Web Pages at UVM Tutorial: Create a Page

Follow the Web Publishing Cycle

Creating and publishing a web page is a cyclical process. You create the page, save it to your computer, move a copy of the file to the UVM web server (zoo), then view the new file in a web browser. Here is what the process looks like:

Create/Edit
the
Page

View
in
browser

Save
the
page

Move it
to web server
(zoo)

If you want to edit a page that you have already created and published, the process is similar. You must retrieve a copy of the page from the web server, edit it, save it, upload the new version to the web server, then view it.

Because you are often dealing with multiple copies of the file (the published copy on the web server, the revised copy on your computer) it can get confusing!

To go through the cycle, click on the links above or the menu links to the left.
