Find out about your connection options (dial-in to host, on-campus connection, etc.)

If you are dialing in to a UVM host, which provides text-only e-mail and web access, you will need to know how to use the communications software that came with your modem. Or you can use Kermit (for Mac or DOS), which is freely available from CIT.

If you would like full Internet connectivity from off-campus, which includes web browsing (Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.) and easy uploading/downloading using FTP, check out our Internet Access Program with Together Networks.

Depending on how you decide to connect, choose an e-mail program:
For a dial-in to host connection (free), use
Pine.
For a full Internet Access Connection (free from on-campus, or a monthly charge from off-campus), use Eudora (
Mac or Windows).
(More information about these e-mail programs is available on the
CIT e-mail page.)
