Indentures
1) This indenture made this day between Elijah Brainerd and Solomon
Bates both of Randolph in the County of Orange State of Vermont witness
that whereas the sd. Solomon doth let and bind his son Amos as an
apprentice to the sd. Elijah till he arrive to the age of sixteen years
to obey the lawful commands of the sd. Elijah and his wife never to
leave or absent himself from sd. Elijah's service without libery from
sd. Elijah or his wife duriong the term of his apprenticeship specified
above
And the said Elijah obliges himself to govern the Sd. Amos agreeable to
the sholesome laws of civility and christianity --to provide proper
victuals clothing and medicine in both sickness & health--to give
him decent clothes at the expiration of the sd. term of apprenticeship
for home & abroad and to instruct him to write, read &
parse (?) english and keep a regular book of accounts--
In witness whereof we have interchangably set our hands and seals on
this fourteenth day of september in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred & ninety one

This Indenture made this day Between Bejamin Woodeth of Bethel in the
COunty of Windos and State of Vermont and Solomon Bates of Williston in
the County of Chittenden and State of Vermont--Witness that wheras the
Said Solomon doth Let and Bind hisdaughter Basheba an Apprentice to the
Sd. Benjamin Woodeth till She arrives at the age of Eighteen years to
obey the Lawfull Commands of the Sd. Benjamin and his wife never to
leave or absent herself from Sd. Benjamin Service without liberty from
the Sd. Benjamin and his wife during the term of her apprenticeship
specifyed above and the Sd. benjamin obliges himself to govern the Sd.
Basheba agreeable to the wholsom laws of Scivility and Christianity to
provide proper Victuals Clothing Medicen in both Sickness and Health to
give hur decent Clothing at the expiration of Sd. term of
apprenticeship for home and abroad and to instruct hur to Read and
Write and also to give the Sd. Basheba at the end of Sd. term a
Middleing Cow--In Witness where of we have Set our hand and Seal on
this fourth day of March one Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety four.

This Indenture made this day between Jonathan Peckham and Solomon Bates
both of Randolph in this County of Orange & State of Vermont
Witness that whereas the said Solomon doth let and binde his son Levy
as an Apprentice to the said Jonathan Peckham til he arrives at the age
of twenty one years to Obey the Lawful Commands from Sd. Jonathan &
his wife never to leave or absent himself from Sd. Jonathn Service
without Liberty from the Sd. jonathan or his Wife during the term of
his Apprenticeship Specifyd above and the Sd. Jonathan Obliges
himself to govern sd. Levyagreeable to the wholsom Laws of civility
& Chritianity to provide proper Victuals Clothing and Medicin in
both Sickness and Health to give him decent clothing at the end of
expiration of the sd. term of Apprenticeship for home & abroad and
to Instruct him to read Write & Cypher as far as the single Rule of
Three, and also to give sd. Levy at the end of sd. Term fifteen pounds
in neat stock equal to wheat at five shillings per bushel in Witness
whereof we have Interchangably Set our hands & Seals this Eleventh
day of January One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Three
