Glendale Stock Farm

Cornwall, VT

The present owner, Jack Watts, has put together a brief but fascinating history of the farm and its buildings.

English Barn
View from the farm yard (south side). Note transom window over door. Sheep barn is to left. The outline of a shed addition as well as its concrete foundation can be seen on the left side of the barn.

Horse and carriage barn
The ventilated cupolas and the raking eaves trim are typical of barns built in Vermont during the 1870s and 1880s.

Sheep Barn
Few examples remain from Vermont's tremendous sheep period. Glen Dale farm raised breeding Merino sheep which they sold world wide.
