Hebrew Instruction at the University of Vermont
Gideon Bavly is our Hebrew instructor here in the Department of German and Russian. He teaches Elementary and Intermediate Hebrew. Both are two-semester classes, which begin in the Fall semester of each year.
Hebrew 001 is the first semester of Elementary Hebrew, and is given only in the Fall semester of each year. It is appropriate for students with no Hebrew background, or limited Hebrew knowledge. It is a four-credit course [four days a week], with one session held at the UVM Language Resource Center which has computers with Hebrew word processors and other enrichment materials. Hebrew 002 is given in the Spring semester of each year, and is the second semester of Elementary Hebrew. Completion of Hebrew 001 or equivalent Hebrew knowledge is required to enroll in Hebrew 002. If you have any questions about Elementary Hebrew at UVM, please contact Gideon Bavly by email at email@example.com or telephone at (802) 656-1472.
Hebrew 051 is the first semester of Intermediate Hebrew, and is likewise given only in the Fall semester of each year. It is a three-credit course, meeting three days a week, and builds on the knowledge of Hebrew acquired in Elementary Hebrew. The prerequisite for Hebrew 051 is completion of Hebrew 002 or the equivalent knowledge of Hebrew. Hebrew 052 is the second semester of Intermediate Hebrew, and is given only in the Spring semester of the year. If you have any questions about Intermediate Hebrew, please contact Gideon Bavly by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone at (802) 656-1472.
