Area of expertise
Research focus on German and Austrian Literature in the 19th and 20th centuries. Translation and multilingual aspects in literature (especially from Italian to German).

This spring, our department is pleased to welcome Professor Kucher, who will be offering a course entitled "Imagining America/USA in Austrian Literature and culture in the 19th and 20th Century" (GERM 282).
Dr. Kucher was chair of the German Department at the University of Klagenfurt from 2007-2012. He was also the Coordinator of the International Research Project Moderne und Antimoderne in der österreichischen Literatur der Zwischenkriegszeit from 2008-2012. Since 2011 he has been the director of the PhD program at the School of Cultural Studies.
