Nominations are due on the date listed in the Graduate College Calendar.
The Graduate College is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of Graduate Student Summer Research Fellowships. The stipend will provide up to $2,000 in summer support to each of approximately 15 graduate students to devote their summer work to some phase of their dissertation, thesis, or final project. The program provides support for a select group of outstanding students who otherwise would need to pursue employment outside the university during the summer months given a lack of funds for their summer research activities. The program is intended to promote high quality graduate student scholarship and to assure the successful and timely completion of program requirements.
Each degree program is invited to nominate one student for the Student Summer Research Fellowship program (a few programs with a large number of dissertation/thesis/final project students, may nominate two). Nominations are due in the Graduate College Dean's Office (330 Waterman Building) by the date listed in the calendar. Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of graduate students and faculty. An effort will be made to achieve a representative distribution of these awards across degree programs, and some priority may be given to students who have not previously had funding to support their research activities. The summer stipends will be awarded for the period of June 1 - August 31.
Each nomination to the Graduate College must include the cover sheet (PDF) and the supporting documentation it requests.
