Webxtender tutorial as pdf

the url for WebXtender is https://webxtender.uvm.edu/AppXtender/

Webxtender additional faqs, troubleshooting issues, etc.

PDF printing problem solution:

After logging into Webxtender, click on Help – then go down to Check Installed Components. The bottom box, Current install status – is probably dark grey, and will say Click to activate. You only need to put the mouse there and it will show you which, if any, of the above listed components you have installed. To be able to print the pdf’s, you should install the 2nd listed component – ApplicationXtender Web Access Adobe Component – while installing, accept all the defaults and once finished, you should be able to print the pdf.

Some additional things to try if you still are having trouble with pdfs.

Printing issues:

There have been printing issues recently. If you are having trouble printing documents after opening them, there is a workaround this -- do not open the document, with your query of names listed, simply right click on the blue icon to the left of the name, and click on print - - it prints that one document only, or better still, check each document you want to print, then click on the print icon at the top of the screen and it says PRINT SELECTED DOCUMENTS and will print them all. (see example below)

For a list of the names to export to Excel:

After you have made a query and have the list of names, documents, etc. on the screen, right click in the space above or below the names, a menu should come up, click on select all, then right click again above or below the names, and another menu should come up - click on copy - then open Excel and paste. When finished - your screen will not look like any of the names are there, but they really are, you will need to delete some rows and then some columns -- the one I just did has the Query results starting on Line 30 and Column R. (see example below) Then you can delete the columns and rows above and to the left to make it more usable. Don't be afraid to experiment.
