Scholarship
Army ROTC Scholarships
Army ROTC scholarships are highly competitive, merit based scholarships
which are designed to lessen the financial burden of higher education
to those who qualify. These scholarships pay full tuition and manditory fees, a flat-rate for books
(presently $600 per semester), and a tax free stipend worth up to $500 per month while in
school.
Army ROTC 4-year Scholarships and 3-year
Advanced Designee Scholarships are available at the University of
Vermont and its Partner Colleges. Applicants can apply during their junior or senior years of high school at www.goarmy.com/rotc. Applications must be complete no later than 15 January.
On campus scholarships are also available to qualified applicants (both
those already enrolled in ROTC and those not yet enrolled) through
annual competition. These scholarships can be for periods
of 4-years, 3.5-years, 3-years, 2.5-years, or 2-years, to include a
2-year graduate school scholarship. Students competing for 2.5-
or 2-year scholarships must attend the Leadership Training Course at
Fort Knox Kentucky.
Scholarships are available for both students who wish to become Active
Duty officers, as well as those who desire to serve in the Army National Guard
or Army Reserve. National Guard and Reserve scholarships are called Guaranteed
Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) scholarships. The
University of Vermont and some of its Partner Colleges provide additional
incentives to all Three and Four Year Scholarship recipients!
Non-Scholarship Cadets
Non-scholarship ROTC students
who contract will
receive a stipend of up to $500 per month.
They are also eligible to join the Army Reserves and Army National Guard through
the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP).
