The UVM Middle East Studies Program, one of eight areas of study within the Global and Regional Studies Program, is an interdisciplinary program that brings together faculty from across the College of Arts and Sciences who have a research and teaching interest in the Middle East or topics related to the region.
A minor academic concentration in Middle East studies is available to undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Many students in various departments and colleges also take courses on the Middle East, fulfilling various college and departmental requirements, without formally declaring Middle East studies as their minor.
The Middle East Studies Program sponsors a variety of lectures and cultural events on campus related to the region. Please check our website and the GRS calendar for upcoming events during the year.
