Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Efforts in Japan
On March 11, 2011 the northeastern coast of Japan experienced a natural disaster of terrifying proportions and indescribable suffering for many thousands of people continues today. The Asian Studies Program at UVM is working to raise funds for a donation to relief agencies currently engaged in providing immediate assistance to victims of this disaster and also those organizations already planning for the reconstruction and recovery efforts in the region that will be ongoing for years to come. We strongly encourage anyone with the means available to make a donation individually. Here are a few suggested sites where donations can be made:
