Yesterday was the first gathering of extras, to be outfitted in 1870's garb. The women must all wear corsets (ick!), long stockings, long-sleeved dresses, etc. I imagine we are going to roast when we start shooting outside! Men have been told they must cut their hair if it is longer than the Ulysses S. Grant-type 'do that was customary during that period.
The word is that the casting director is still short about 20-25 Asian men to portray railroad workers. There was talk yesterday of going to Los Alamos and Albuquerque to solicit casting agencies with this request. There is also supposed to be another casting call for Asian men only this Saturday, 8/15.
The production schedule has slipped by a few days. Extras are now asked to report for the first time on Friday, 8/21.
