GIS at The University of Vermont

ESRI Development Center

UVM is an ESRI Development Center.  The EDC program gives recognition and support to colleges that educate students to design and develop GIS applications using ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop and Server technology.  Students participating in the EDC program are allowed to install ESRI software on their own computers and are provided opportunities to be recognized for their accomplishments.

Students participate in the EDC program through their enrollment in geospatial technologies (GST) courses at UVM, or through their active participation in research sponsored by EDC personnel.  For intro-level courses (e.g., NR 143), student eligibility may be subject to instructor discretion.  Current EDC Faculty and staff at UVM are:

  • Ernie Buford (ESRI site license administrator)
  • Meghan Cope, PhD
  • Lesley-Ann Dupigny-Giroux, PhD
