Interests
I am an applied climatologist with a strong desire to make a difference at the interface between climate information and the communities that require climate information. Within the climate field my personal interests are varied but mainly lie with extremely hot temperature episodes, urban climatology, climate’s influence on air pollution and the science of climate data itself. Here at the University of Vermont I am working with the Vermont Department of Health; Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation and the Vermont Air Quality and Climate Division in the Department of Environmental Conservation. The overarching theme of that work is the impact climate change is potentially going to have with those fields. My educational background consists of a B.A. in climate physics, M.S. in atmospheric sciences and Ph. D. in atmospheric sciences; all at the University of Michigan in the Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences department.
