FST people,
The website has had the same backgound image for quite a while, and for good reason... it's an epic photo! But it's time for a refresh. So I'd like to put the challenge out there to go out and shoot the money shot (you might need to wait until there's more snow), or submit a shot you've taken in the past.
Only guidelines are that the photo should be original resolution (i.e. not some screen grab of a facebook picture), and that the shot is of the wow variety. I can't guarantee that all submissions will make it to the homepage, but if you submit a worthy successor, it will surely go up. So get out there and let the shutters run wild.
Meanwhile, hope for some snow!

Welcome Back FSTers!
Hope everyone had a fun-filled thanksgiving break with lots of turkey and such. There are only a couple weeks left in the semester, so finish up strong! A couple things from FST to keep in mind.
- We will be holding a team meeting 1 week from today (Tuesday December 6th) at 8PM in Williams 301. This is a MANDATORY meeting for everyone on the team! At this meeting we will be giving out some stickers, skirack yowies, hopefully some SSC t-shirts and membership cards, and maybe some other stuff. We will also be going over our plans for the remainder of the winter, including: competitions, on snow training sessions, film days, and tramp stuff. SO MAKE SURE TO COME TO THIS MEETING!
- Everyone MUST get a Proof of Student form from the front desk of the Waterman building in order to receive your Stowe pass. When you go to get your pass, they will ask for this form and a photo ID to confirm this. For those of you that don't know, you pick up your season pass at the Spruce Peak lodge in the guest services/season pass department.
- As long as Stowe is open this weekend, we are going to run 2 vans on both days, so stay tuned for that, and if you want to get a spot in the van check out the FB group page (10 people per van).
- Finally, this is the last chance for anyone who wants to get a USASA membership. There are a ton of northern VT USASA events including slopestyle, halfpipe, and (New this year) rail jam events. If you are interested in competing in any of these (and maybe qualifying for nationals) then you HAVE to send us an email (freeski@uvm.edu) saying you want to get us to get you a USASA membership.
That is it for now...
See you at STOWE!!

To all you Freeskiers,
Welcome back Burlington for a fresh new school year! We started our year by tabling at the Freshmen activities fair the Saturday before classes started, and we got to meet lots of new people. Tomorrow (Wednesday) we will be tabling again at the Davis Center Activities fair. So if you haven't seen us yet this year or just want to swing by and say hello...do it..we can talk freeskiing for the upcoming season or whatever else.
More importantly, our 1st general team meeting with be held on Wednesday September 14th (1 week from tomorrow) at 8:30PM in Lafayette 108. We will be going over what the team does, what we have to offer, and our plans moving forward into this season. Attendance is a must if you are serious about being on the team this year, no matter who you are. If you have any friends that didnt get this email and are interested in being on the team have them contact us at freeski@uvm.edu
Other than that, come say hello tomorrow at the FST table, and get pumped for all the ski premieres coming out this fall! We look forward to seeing all of you.

Hey guys,
I realize that any of you who use Chrome as a browser may have had trouble logging in lately, as there was an error keeping the side navigation from displaying (including the Login button). I corrected the issue, so you should all be able to log in and have access to your account settings, shred log, and upload media again.
Get psyched for Wednesday/Thursday, big snow on the way!

This wednesday at 8:30 PM in Waterman 413 we will be having our big general meeting. Standard stuff. Not a big deal if you can't make it, its not mandatory or extremely important, but come if you can.
We will be doing an application process again this year. If you do want to remain on the team, fill out an application. We don't care what it says, but just fill it out, thats how we will know you plan on continuing to do the team. If you do not fill out an application, we will assume you are not doing the team this season. That being said, there will be a fair number of applications for only a few spots this season. For those who are unsure if they want to do the team again, think about your involvement from last season and ask yourself if you utilized the team and what it has to offer (shop night, vans, competitions). We had a great team last year, but if you are on the fence about the team, there may be people who are very interested in the team who would really appreciate your spot. So if you do not plan on doing the team please let us know within two weeks.
Hope to see some of you there on Wednesday.
