An overview of the technological, artistic, economic, and sociological history of cinema from its inception through the 1920's.

Film 107: Film Criticism - Section A (3 cr.)

Intensive analysis of films to develop appropriate critical methods and standards. Possible approaches are sociological, psychological, aesthetic, formalistic, humanistic, and journalistic. Prerequisite: Film 5 or 6.
