Project Description

Move systems in 205 Waterman from using APC UPS's in 205 Waterman to relying on the Liebert NPower 80KVA unit which powers the entire room.

Statement of the Problem to be Solved

The APC units are getting old and their batteries are reaching end of life. The Liebert UPS has finally reached the point of being useful and we need to move the systems that are critical to using that instead of relying on the APC units.

Benefits

By removing the APC UPS's from the power structure, we will remove the possibility of an APC unit taking down multiple systems due to a problem with it's batteries.

We also clear the way for replacement of the halon system with (possibly) a water based fire suppression system.

Dependencies

The ability to obtain downtime on the systems that are presently powered from the APC UPS's.
