LDAP Server Upgrade (2004)

Project Definition

Name

LDAP Server Upgrade (2004)

Project Description

Upgrade from a pair of machines in an active/passive role to three machines. One machine as the Read/Write server and two machines in an active/active configuration to provide be Read servers (and take over the ldap.uvm.edu name).

Statement of the Problem to be Solved

With the roll-out of the new email infrastructure, the load on ldap.uvm.edu has exceeded what a single machine can provide. We temporarily solved the problem by stealing three machines from other projects to work as ldap-mail.uvm.edu. These machines will be able to perform that roll much better than the single processor systems we stole.
