               <salute>Dear
Madam:</salute>
            </opener>

            <p n="Q">Replying to your recent letter about the family of [Dora Clifford Walton] and
[George Walton]I write to say that [Mabel, Gertrude, and Molly Walton] were
committed to us as neglected children on December 9, 1913 and are still under our supervision.
From the time of their commitment to June 1, 1925 the cost of support of each of the children
may be figured at approximately four dollars a week. From June 1, 1925 to date we are
estimating full support at the rate of five dollars per week, per child.</p>

            <p n="Q">[Dora Walton] was admitted to the State Infirmary from the Massachusetts
Reformatory for Women at Sherborn on February 16, 1914, and was returned to Sherborn on
April 27, 1914. Her child, [Richard Walton], was born at the State Infirmary, Tewksbury on
March 6, 1914 and was
discharged April 27, 1914 with the mother. The pro rata cost at the State Infirmary at that time
was $3.63 per week.</p>

            <p>We have no connection with the Massachusetts Reformatory for Women or the House of
Correction at Pittsfield so cannot give you the expense of maintaining their inmates. I would
suggest that you write to Mrs. Jessie D. Hodder, Superintendent, Massachusetts Reformatory for
Women at Sherborn (Post‐office Framingham), and to the Master of the House of
Correction at Pittsfield for the information you desire.</p>

            <closer>
               <salute>Very truly yours,</salute>
