A Eugenics Survey of Vermont is to be conducted under the
auspices of the Department of Zoology of this University, with Miss
Harriett Abbott as Field Investigator. The purpose is to ascertain
certain important facts relative to delinquency, feeble mindedness, et
cetera, and the cost to the state of maintaining persons belonging to
such classes. It may lead to an attempt at some helpful legislation, but
the primary purpose will be to get a more definite picture of
conditions in Vermont. An Advisory Committee is being formed.
Will you be go good as to serve as one of its members? A meeting
will be held in the Marsh Library at the University, at two P.M.,
September twenty‐sixth, and I should be very happy to receive your
acceptance of the position and your agreement to try to be present on
that date. Your expenses will be paid out of our Survey funds.
