            </opener>

<p>I am very greatly interested in yours, undated but recently
received. It is particularly timely because we are at the present time
contemplating a year or more of publicity work in Vermont on
Eugenics and allied subjects. Your letter therefore gives us exactly
the sort of clue that we shall be looking for all over the state as to just
what is wanted, and it is our duty to attempt to fill the need just
insofar as we are able.</p>

<p>Your problem in regard to sex education in the schools is
apparently general, indeed almost universal, in this state. It seems to
me that the State Board of Health ought to be ready to cooperate with
the State Board of Education and the Department of Education. It is
also possible that the Education Committee of the Vermont
Commission on Rural Life, if funds are provided as we hope they
may be for a continuation of the work, might well make a special
point of looking into this question and seeking the right kind of
cooperation to make a beginning at least.</p>

<p>At present I believe that such a demand as yours can be fairly
easily met by a little planning here in Burlington and at Montpelier
and I shall take the liberty to bring the matter to Dr. Dalton's
attention with the request that he communicate directly with you.</p>

<p>Again I thank you for writing and assure you that as regards
the study group we are already in a position to assist. The News
Letter sent out over Mrs. McMullen's signature is our first attempt in
this direction. Please let me know what you think of it. A copy of it
is going to you by this same mail.</p>

               <salute>Very sincerely yours,</salute>
