</opener>

I received your nice letter which you wrote on
November 30. I think you must have had a splendid Thanksgiving dinner. Did you eat all those
things?

Who won the Harmonica contest?

I have been pretty busy and so I have not written to you for quite a long time but I hope you
will keep on writing since I like very much to get your letters.

It will not be necessary for me to write to Miss Susie Rogers in order to find out how old
you are, because I found out just when and where you were born a good many years ago, when I
was looking up the births of your little brother and sister. You were born in Massachusetts on
March 6, 1914, so you were 12 years old last March.

In what grade are you now in school? I hope that you are in the third or fourth. If you work
hard I know that Miss Sessions will help you to get on fast.

The handwriting in your last letter was much better than it was before. I hope that by next
June you will be a real good writer because by and by you will want to go out in the world and
get a good job, and you can't do that unless you write very nicely.

I hope that you will have a very, very Merry Christmas and have lots of presents and good
things to eat.
