               <salute>My  dear  Mr.  Perkins,</salute>
            </opener>

            <p>Some  of
our members wish to form a small study group and learn of the present day way of
treating the subject of eugenics. Since the sterilization bill is looming again in our
legislature, some wish to know of the opinion and experience of states which passed this
bill some time ago and have now come out in opposition to it. </p>

            <p> Moreover, as there is no sex‐education in our schools, some feel that some
information should be given in classes outside and we would like to know what books
are generally believed to present these facts wisely and suitably. We have read several
pamphlets, but feel that there are suggestions that would be helpful if given by one with
wider reading facilities. Our greatest problem seems to be to find a man who can
present this subject to the boys as would be most effective. Our local doctor has just
come and has not the local support that he would have if people were better acquainted.
It seems to me that the speaker's personality would be very important in gaining the
attention  of  the  boys,  especially.</p>

            <p> We shall greatly appreciate any suggestions as to books or pamphlets or any
information as to plans which have met with good results elsewhere. </p>

            <p>I think that a small group of women would be interested in having a series of
study afternoons to become intelligent promoters of a larger group study later. </p>

            <closer>
               <salute>Very  sincerely,</salute>
