Starting Up a New Laboratory at UVM
The best time to establish good laboratory safety practices
is when you start moving into your laboratory. Many questions
quickly arise:
- How many chemicals should we buy to start?
- Where should we store them?
- What kind of safety training do we need?
- Do we know what kind of laboratory gloves we need?
- Do we know how to get rid of our wastes?
Contact Environmental Safety staff at esf@uvm.edu to
schedule a consultation to help answer these and many other
questions. During a 1-2 hour visit, ES staff can answer your
questions, provide helpful safety materials such as labels
and signs, and explain all the requirements for operating
laboratories that use hazardous chemicals at UVM.
To help you get started, a list of the supplies/services
we offer is available here.
